２０２２年最初の活動は森のようちえん
寒い日の過ごし方はたくさんあります。
子どもたちがどんな遊びをしているのかいくつか紹介します。

①落ち葉に潜る
森中の落ち葉を集めると体ばすっぽり埋まってしまうほどに体まで入ると暖かいですね！

②坂道ダッシュ(ハイハイの子も)
ちょっと急な坂道も慣れてくると走って登れるようになりました。
年上たちの真似をしたくてハイハイして登っていく子もいます。

③竹のさかあがりチャレンジ
ぶら下がれそうな竹を見つけて即席の鉄棒！
工夫次第で落ちているもの全てが遊び道具に変わる瞬間です。

④おにぎりは焼いてホカホカに
おにぎりはホカホカに焼いて食べるのが美味しい！
どうしたら火が強くなるのかご飯が焦げないのか考えなが火加減を調整しています。

⑤ニワトリの暖かさに触れる
動物って触ってみるとこんなに暖かい
でも、触るのには勇気が必要です！少しずつ慣れていきましょう

⑥焚き火で暖をとる
温まる一番の方法は焚き火
子どもたちはどこにどんな葉っぱと枝が落ちていているのか知っています。
何が燃えやすくて燃えにくいのかを実験しながら焚き火の研究をしていきましょう！

⑦落ち葉投げ大会
何回やっても楽しい！当たっても痛くない！ずっと続けられる遊びです！楽しみながらポカポカになっちゃおう！

⑧大地の暖かさを感じる
体を動かさず太陽と大地の暖かさを感じましょう！普段の生活では地面が暖かいなんて寝てみないと気が付かないでしょう！

森でどんな遊びをするのか決めるのは子どもたち！落ちている葉っぱや枝、氷、木の実など全てが遊べるものになります。
初めて森で自由に遊んでいいよとなると「何もなくてやることがない」なんて子もいますが、回を重ねると遊び方がわかってきます。
何もないように見えるかもしれないけれど、目に映る全てのものを遊び道具に帰ることができたら毎日楽しいですね。

新年明けましておめでとうございます。
２０２２年、今年第１回目のスキー教室、風がなく暖かくとても滑りやすい日でした！
ご参加いただきましてありがとうございました。

朝の行きの山です笑日光連山が雪化粧になっています。
まずはスキー場に着いたら、、、
駐車場の雪が積もっているところをすごい上まで登ってお尻で滑って遊んでいました笑
誰もまだ踏んでないふかふか雪をぐんぐん踏んで気持ちよさそうでしたが笑
ちょ、スキーする前に疲れちゃうよ！！はよ降りておいで！！笑
でも元気で最高ですね(`･ω･´)b

そして、初めてのメンバーは今日は８人。今回は初めてメンバーにフォーカスしていきます。
最初はリフトには乗らず片足で滑ってみたり、ブレーキをかける練習やカニさん歩きで斜面の上まで戻ってきたり。

午前中はスキー板をうまく思うように動かせなくて、違うところに滑って行っちゃったり、前の子のスキーを踏んじゃって転んじゃったり。
一人一人順番でしっかり見ていないとうまくいきませんでした笑
でも、基本をしっかり覚えればその後の上達が早いはずです！

でもお昼ご飯を挟んでからは、みんな急にすごいレベルアップ！
「周りがビュンビュン滑っているのに、、、僕も私も早く上手に滑りたい！！」
午後からはみんな無事リフトに乗って２周できました！すごい！！

「一人でリフトに乗ってみたい！」って言う子も。
おおそうか、それじゃあ後ろからついていくね！
たくましいですね。
午前中は前の人にぶつかりまくったり蛇行しすぎて思うように滑れなかったのに、午後はスピードを予測してブレーキをコントロールしながら間をうまくとって、綺麗に一列に上手に滑れました！

どんどんスピードも出てきました。
楽しい！

また、午前中に間違えて後ろ向きで山の下まで滑っていっちゃった失敗も活きたようで、子供たちが見れるように後ろ向きに滑るインストラクターのマネをして、「僕も後ろ向きにも滑れるよ！さっきできたもん！」って笑いや急にレベル高すぎ！
けど失敗したもんがちですよね！
どんどん自信つけていこう！

途中でぶつかって転んじゃっても、手を貸して引き上げる前に、二人で勝手に手を貸し合って立ち上がっていました。
思わず感動してしまいました。
このように新しい発見や、できた！が増えた一日でした！
疲れたけど楽しかったね！！

Oku-Nikko Airboard and Snowshoeing

What is an air board?
Born in Switzerland, it’s already popular in Europe and a hot topic in Japan.
This is a new type of activity where you get on a rubber board (inflated with air) while lying face down and slide down the mountain freely. There is an edge on the bottom of the board so you can turn! By receiving the lecture, you can immediately learn how to turn and stop and enjoy it easily.

NAOC Oku-Nikko Airboard & Snowshoeing
In the winter, Oku-Nikko is wrapped in powder snow and Nikko National Park is a great field to play in the snow. Put on your snowshoes, grab an airboard and let’s start. We will walk uphill and through flat snowfields using the snowshoes. On the downhill slope, you can ride on the air board and slide down. You can enjoy the thrill of slipping through the trees and observing the terrain.

Wear a helmet and snowshoes and start the lecture on the open hill!
You will get on the air board and learn how to turn and stop safely.

Let’s go into the wilderness when you feel confident!
Under the guide lecture, identify the ups and downs of the field! Let’s give it a try!

[Enjoy the air board in the primeval forest]
It’s also a thrilling moment to identify the slopes of untouched terrain and think about creating a course together! (Unlike ski resorts, it is not an artificial slope). If you increase the difficulty level by slipping through the trees and jumping, the excitement level will be max!
On the main slope during the course, you can enjoy a maximum of 20 to 30 meters. Depending on the conditions, you can go up and slide many times!
[You can also enjoy snowshoes]
A spectacular view of the untouched nature of Oku-Nikko and the fluffy powder snow that piles up there. Oku-Nikko has a high altitude, so it is said to have the same climate as Hokkaido, even though it is in the Kanto region. Snowshoe hiking in the winter of Oku-Nikko for a distance of about 1.5 to 2 km.
The course is based on gentle up and downs with few steep climbs.

Afternoon (12:00)
After lunch, climb a small slope and keep playing!

Goal (12:30)
The fun time is over, as we get in the car and go home.

What are snowshoes?
One of the snow walking tools for walking comfortably on the snow, also known as western snowshoe.
Have you ever experienced that when you try to walk in deep snow, your feet sink and it is difficult to walk?

Since it can be easily used by children and adults, it has become a popular winter activity in various places in recent years.

The real powder snow is here! Oku-Nikko is one of the few places in Honshu where you can meet high-quality powder snow. If you walk in the virgin forest, which is completely white, with snowshoes and take a closer look at the area…
A part of nature such as a single bridge of fallen trees hanging over a swamp and a snow slider on a steep slope becomes a fun attraction.
There are many footprints of wild animals such as deer, rabbits, squirrels, and foxes all over the place! If you’re lucky, you may be able to spot them. Sometimes you may discover something by stopping, feeling the crisp wind, and listening to the sounds of nature.

Let’s go to the primeval forest of Oku-Nikko!  The course distance is about 2.5 to 3 km, walking on gentle up and downs without steep climbs.

NAOC’s Oku-Nikko Snowshoes are held in the unexplored region of the Oku-Nikko area from the Nikko Mountains to the vicinity of Konsei Toge. A spectacular view of untouched nature and fluffy powder snow. Oku-Nikko has a high altitude, so it is said to have the same climate as Hokkaido, even though it is in the Kanto region. The birch forest with fluffy powder snow is a mysterious and wonderful sight.

Let’s slide on a natural slide on a steep slope! This is surprisingly thrilling!

After snow cycling we will snowshoe and discover Iori Falls, which runs down secretly located in an unexplored region of Oku-Nikko. And in the midwinter, it becomes a beautiful icefall that welcomes us.
Both snow cycling and hiking are gentle up and down courses. (Round trip about 10 km, cycling 6 km and snowshoeing 4 km)

What is BC Cross Country Skiing?

Backcountry cross-country skiing (sometimes called off-piste skiing) is any type of skiing done outside the patrolled boundaries of a ski area. We use skis that are slightly wider and more stable than cross-country skis (walking skis). The skis have edges and the bottom of the skis are structured for walking. You can walk more smoothly than snowshoes, and you can also slide like normal skis. We use light and comfortable boots like trekking shoes.

Oku-Nikko is one of the few places in Honshu where you can find high-quality powder snow. Walk slowly through the virgin forest dyed in pure white with the BC Cross Country.
If you look around…There are many footprints of wild animals such as deer, rabbits, squirrels, and foxes! If you’re lucky, they might show up.
If you stop and feel the crisp breeze and listen to the sounds of nature, you may discover something new.
There are plenty of charms even in the severe cold season when it snows! We will guide you to a tour where you can experience nature as a whole.

I mainly do mountain biking tours from the world heritage Nikko Toshogu area through Nikko Suginamiki Kaido, the world’s longest cedar boulevard.
