SUP: Paddle-boarding in Nikko

SUP – in Kinugawa –

SUP is an acronym for Stand Up Paddle surfing. Also known as paddle-boarding, it is an activity where you stand on a large surfboard and paddle yourself.

It is an activity that started as a leg training for riding big waves in Hawaii. It is characterized by stability and easy propulsion.

NAOC’s SUP will guide you to the finest premium space of the Kinugawa gorge.

The area to be used has a calm flow, so even first-timers can participate with peace of mind.

Practice at the starting point. Once you get used to how to row and how to play, continue cruising further. The feeling of controlling the board by manipulating the paddle with your own power, and the feeling of letting yourself go with the flow and the wind is exceptional!

Sometimes I stop by the beach, swim, and jump off the rocks. Fully enjoy the freedom of SUP + α and a highly satisfying time.

Enjoy an elegant SUP tour to your heart’s content at the mysterious water lounge of Kinugawa surrounded by deep rock walls!

・Swimwear or underwear that can get
wet *Wear inside a wetsuit.

*As a general rule, please wear shoes with fixed straps holding the heels. Flip-flops are not allowed.

*Synthetic materials are preferable. It is recommended to participate in light clothing instead of a wet suit during the hot midsummer season.

*Synthetic fiber material is preferable. Wear it under a wetsuit on chilly days in spring and autumn.
・Drinks
*You can bring anything with a lid during the tour.

1. The wetsuits used on the tour are comfortable original suits with thickness suitable for the three seasons of spring, summer, and autumn.
2. River shoes and sandals are available according to the weather. Two types: montbell’s other shoe type or Teva’s river sandals!

Enjoy the ultimate adventure with your loved ones!

There is no official or legal guideline for what age a child can go canyoning from, but encouraging little kids to Jumping into beautiful alpine pools, sliding down natural toboggans and abseiling down waterfalls is fantastic fun and a great activity to try as a family.

Canyoning is the perfect addition to all activity holidays for families specially during hot summer in Japan.

Let’s float and flow in the clear stream. Observe how yamame trout and char swim. Slide on a bedrock like a slide. Let’s jump from the top of the rock into the river.

We have prepared a private tour that you can enjoy alone with your family.

Participation is limited to one family per frame, and our trained staff will guide you in complete privacy. All necessary safety gears and equipments are included, so you can participate only with a towel! You can swim in the clear river currents and play on natural rock slides and puddles. A trained guide will take you on an exciting adventure safely. It will sure be a day full of great adventures for your children as well.

NAOC is a pioneer who introduced canyoning tours for the first time in Tochigi Prefecture! Let’s dive in the beautiful nature of Nikko.

We will guide you through safe, secure and enjoyable canyoning.

Who can participate?

Minimum age required is 5 years old.

Tour Terms & Conditions

Infants must be 5 years old or older. First timers are welcome. This activity is basically for families with small children.

* Please refrain from participating if you are pregnant, under the effect of alcohol or hangover.

* At least one of the parents must be with the infant during the tour.

The Tour will be held by two or more participants. It will be held in rainy weather, but it may be cancelled if there is a risk of flooding due to a typhoon or heavy rain.

This e-bike (electrically assisted sports bicycle) cycling tour takes you through Nikko’s hidden gems, not listed in guidebooks, as you experience the changing seasons on both on- and off-road routes.

You will cycle through the hustle and bustle of Nikko’s streets, feeling the mountain breeze and the murmuring of the river as you go. A more active off-road ride along the Daiya River will reveal the Nikko Cedar Avenue, an ancient road lined with cedar trees over 300 years old. This ancient road, deeply rooted in this land and witnessing the passage of time since the Edo period, is sure to speak to us.

It’s also relaxing to stop by the clear stream, lie down in the fields, and gaze up at the sky.

In addition to the historic buildings, be sure to take in the surrounding nature. Relaxing and taking photos of the majestic Nikko mountain range and the trees that change color with the seasons is one of the highlights of this tour.

それは本質を知ることから始まるのかもしれません。

その中で私たちそれぞれにとって快適な暮らしを見つけることができたら素敵だと思っています。

私たち「サスティナブルクラブ」では、忙しい日常をちょっと立ち止まって振り返り居心地の良さを気付ける時間が里山にあると考えています。

子どもたちは一日中里山を駆け回り、大人は季節を感じながら里山の恵みを楽しむ。そうする中で持続可能な生活のきっかけが見えてくると思います。

”SDGs ””田舎暮らし””サスティナブル” ”カーボンニュートラル” ”自給自足 ”

言葉ではない体験にご一緒しましょう。

自分にとっての”well-being”（健康で安心なこと、満足できる生活状態)な日常のヒントが里山の中にあると感じています。里山の四季に身を置いて感じる、太陽・風・草木・空・動物・植物などは私たちに必要な何かを教えてくれます。

『サスティナブクラブ』は月に1度（年間８回）開催のクラブです。

クラブでは土に触れて畑作り、収穫、豊かな森つくり、森のめぐみの利用、自然の中でできる心と体のワークショップ、丁寧な暮らしのお話しなどを軸に活動していきます。

畑で取れた野菜をいただくことも楽しみの一つとなっています。

ご参加の皆様が笑いあいながら里山で過ごされ、ふるさとの様に感じて過ごされています。月ごとに季節作業や農体験、旬の食材、時にはゲストを迎えてのワークショップなど。

いつもどんなことをして遊んでいるの？

森のようちえんの遊び方に特にルールは決まっていません！

何をして遊ぶのかはアイディア次第

初めて来たばかりの子だと「何をして遊んだらいいかわからない」と不安になるかもしれませんが、小さい頃から森で遊び慣れている先輩たちがいい見本を見せてくれます。

自分の想像力を膨らませてたくさんの遊びを創り出していこう。

全ては紹介しきれていないのでほんの一部だけお伝えします。

豊かな里山を自由に駆け回ったり

雨の日にには水たまりでジャブジャブしたり

お気に入りの棒は毎回現地調達

汚れるのも遊びのうち

どこまでいけるのか試してみよう！

川を渡るのにひたすらジャンプ！

慣れてくると自分の身長よりずっと高いところから飛べるようになっちゃいました。

自分の限界にチャレンジ！

時折、転んだりすることもありますがそれもまたいい経験

どんなことをしたら危ないのか、今の自分には何ができて何ができないのかを知るには実際に体験することが一番。

お気に入りの棒を見つけてはどちらが先に折れるのか勝負したり

葉っぱ、枝、生き物たち

自然の中にあるものは全てがオリジナル。同じ種類のものはありますが、全く同じものはありません。

枝も季節によって硬さが変わったり、落ちている種類が変わったりします。

遊びながらも少しずつ変わる自然の変化を感じ取っていきましょう。

森で採れた竹を組み合わせてアスレチック

一人では重くて運べないものは仲間に手伝ってもらう。

遊びとは何をするか考えて準備している時間から始まっています。

遊びを創造することも含めて楽しみましょう。

昆虫ズームアップ

生き物が大好きな小学1年生。

今日もどんな場所にどんな虫がいるか探検していました。

ジメジメしたところ、石の下、葉っぱの後ろ、土の中・・・

どんどん虫カゴに収集していきます。

そして時々捕まえた虫で実験を始めます。

イエカミキリムシはてんとう虫を食べるのかなあ？

しばらくしたら二人加わって一緒に実験を見守って手伝っていました。

でもどんな虫もお気に入りなわけではないらしい。

好きじゃない虫はエサ役にまわります。

あ、あった！！

お気に入りの虫はマイクロカメラで写真におさめ、後で印刷します。

大好きなポケモンのように、採取した虫で自分だけのムシカードを作ります！

肉眼では気づかなかった結構細かい模様、色や立体構造が分かり、迫力があります。

目玉はこんな小さな点でちゃんとあるんだー、プニプニにひだがついてて伸びやすいんだー、

色々な気づきがありました！

自分だけのオリジナルのカード！

虫に合わせて図鑑で調べたり、必殺技や強さを好きなように考えて創造力を伸ばしていこう！

お茶屋さんを開いちゃおう

薬草に興味のある小学３年生。

もうすでにどの草がどういう効能があるのか知っています。

薬草博士は、なんと長岡の里山のどこにどんな薬草が生えているのかも、走って回り調査済みなのです。

匂いを嗅いでこれはカキドオシだとすぐに分かります。

カキドオシは、ミントのようなハーブのような、優しいスースーとした香りがします。

血糖値を下げ、消化器系疾患にも効くんだと教えてもらいました。

せっかくならお茶屋さんを開いて、みんなに知ってもらおう！

ということで薬草の本を持ってきてもらい、照らし合わせながらいっぱい集めることにしました。

もう立派な薬草博士です。

じゃあ薬草集めゲームをしよう、

みんなで薬草をどのくらい集められるか勝負しました。

結果、みんなで力を合わせてこんなにいっぱい集めました！

そして素人の人は本を見ながら仕分けをします。なるほどなるほど。

スギナ、ドクダミ、カキドオシ、タンポポの葉っぱ、など色々採れるんだね！

全部薬草、全部身体に良いお茶になります。

同級生も6年生のお兄ちゃんも協力してお茶屋さんのコップと看板作りを手伝ってくれました。

Tくんも椅子を用意したり看板が倒れないように杭を作ったり、色々な準備を頑張りました。

たしかに茶筒も竹で作れるね、もちろん試作品も忘れません。

乾かす時に少し蒸れてカビちゃったりなど、何回か試作を繰り返した後、

やっと満足できるものができました！

みんなのご家族の方に試飲してもらって、最終的には２００人ほど訪れる森のマーケットに出店しました！

一から自分たちで作ったお店、年齢なんて関係ない！

お店に出すって知らない人もいっぱいで少し緊張したけど、みんなで一緒に喜んでもらえて楽しかったね。

これからも好きなことをいっぱい探して、自分たちの好きなことがみんなにも喜んでもらえるといいな！

チャリ旅１日で５０km制覇

筑波山まで50キロ！！

とっても濃い霧の寒い朝！
こどもたちは元気いっぱいに出発！！
鬼怒川サイクリングロードは、
霧で前が見えなくなるほど

でも、50キロを漕ぎ着るためにめいいっぱい
飛ばすよ！

だんだん霧が晴れてきて、前が見えやすくなってきた頃、
やっと暖かい日差しがさしこんできたよ！

少しづつ休憩しつつ

ついに栃木県と茨城県の県境に到着！！
そこから漕ぎ進めて、途中休憩をとりながら
りんりんロードに到着！

とても順調かと思いきや、なんと向かい風が、、
最後の力をめいいっぱい振り絞って

頑張って漕ぎきった子も、まだまだまいけるよ！って子も様々でしたが、みんな漕ぎきれたね！また、一緒に頑張ろうね！

スキー場もオープンしましたし、本格的に雪のシーズンの始まりです。

年が明けるとすぐにスキー教室がスタートします。

28kmのチャリ旅「ほらがい城」と呼ばれた皆川城まで行ってみよう！昔の人たちが通ったかもしれない道に想いを馳せて旅に出かけましょう！

BCクロスカントリースキーとは

BCクロカンと私たちは読んでいます。クロスカントリースキー（歩くスキー）よりも少し幅広で安定したスキーを使います。

スキーにはエッジがありスキーの底は歩きやすい構造になっています。スノーシューより歩くスムーズに歩けて、普通のスキーの様に滑ることもできます。

ブーツはトレッキングシューズのような軽くて歩きやすいブーツを使用します。

奥日光は本州でも数少ない上質なパウダースノーに出会える場所です。一面真っ白に染まった原生林の中をBCクロカンで歩き、ゆっくりと移動していきます。辺りをよく見渡してみると・・・
鹿にうさぎ、リス、狐など野生動物の足跡もそこら中にたくさん！運が良ければ、ひょっこり姿を見せてくれるかもしれません。

・防寒、防風、防水性の高いジャケットとパンツ(スキーウェアでも可)
・保温性の高い中間着
※体温調節のできる、脱ぎ着しやすいものが望ましいです。
・保温、速乾性があるインナー
※化学繊維が望ましいです。
・ダウンジャケット
※主に休憩時に着用します。かなり寒い為、汗冷えには注意しましょう。
・グローブ
・ニットキャップ
・サングラスまたはゴーグル
※晴天時にはかなり眩しいです。
・リュック
※ウェア類、飲み物などを入れます。
・軽食、飲み物
※飲み物は温かいものと冷たいもの、2つあるとgood！

参加条件

15歳以上 (緩やかな起伏のコースです)

開催条件

2名以上で開催いたします。
風雪などにより中止になる場合もございます。

※中止の場合、天気予報とフィールドの状態などを総合的に判断し、前日の19時までにはご連絡いたします。ただし自然相手のこととなりますので、やむを得ず突然の中止が決定される場合もございます。その点はご理解をいただきお申込みをお願いいたします。

天候などによる弊社からのキャンセル・中止のご連絡の際、全額ご返金させていただきます。
