El otoño es increíble en Nikko, y este fin de semana podremos disfrutar del exclusivo Light Up en los santuarios y templos del Patrimonio Mundial de Nikko.
Además del área iluminada, habrá puestos de comida, conciertos y tambores japoneses.

Koyo, delicious food and… Light Up. It couldn’t get any better!
Fall is amazing in Nikko, and this weekend you can enjoy the unique Light Up all around the World-Heritage shrines and temples.
Besides the illuminated area, there will be food stands, concerts and Japanese drums.

Fall season at Nikko is amazing, not only for its famous colors, but also because of the delicious food.
Just a few meters away from Shinkyo Bridge, you can enjoy a seasonal special lunch at Nikko Kanaya Hotel, which is the oldest resort hotel in Japan, opened in 1873.
Both at the Craft Lounge (1F) or at the Main Dining Room (2F) exclusive dishes are served, such as Rainbow Trout and sausage made from Nikko Himitsu pork.

Today is a sunny, beautiful day. Enjoy the last days of Autumn leaves in Oku Nikko area, for example around Chuzenji Lake area and the famous Kegon Falls.
To get there, take the Tobu bus from JR or Tobu Nikko station for Chuzenji Onsen, and get off at “Chuzenji Onsen” bus stop. It is an approximate 50-minute ride, and then walk about 5 minutes to Kegon Falls.
川ガキに行ってきました。
今回の遊び場はこんな真っ白な岩盤を歩いて探検します。
なぜ、こんないろをしているのかと言いますと、先日の台風の影響で増水し土砂が流れたおかげで、表面の苔を洗い流してくれたのです！
きっず達も「すごい！こんな川見たことない！光ってるじゃん！」と驚きの様子。
まずは、生き物がいるかチェック！
川底の石を裏返して
釣りの餌としても使える川虫を発見！
でも、いつもより数が少ない？もしかすると増水時に流されてしまったのかも知れません。
石の隙間には魚が隠れているかも！？潜って探してみます。
結果は「冷たすぎて見えなかった。」とのことでした。諦めずにチャレンジしていると別のところから泳いでいる魚を発見。動きが早すぎて捉えることはできませんでしたが、姿は見えたので無事が確認できました。
木の根っこが見えてしまっている。水位が下がっているので今は安全に歩くことができますが、場所によって増水時には子どもたちの身長ほど水位が上がっていたようです。
この他にも砂が集まっているところ、倒木、土砂が流れて形成された落とし穴などたくさんのものを発見していました。
沢ガニの甲羅。生きているのもは見つけることができませんでしたが、沢ガニがいることもわかりました。
低学年の子は「カニって海の生き物でしょ？」と聞いてくるので上級生が説明してくれました。頼りになる！
激レア！穴あき石
どのようにしてこの形ができたのでしょうか？川には不思議が隠れています。
高学年の子は学校の授業で川の流れ、増水するとどのように侵食するか、川の流れとその働きについて学んでいるのだそう。
学校の授業で学んだ知識を経験として実際に川を歩いて、見て、触って体験してみる。
体験がプラスされることでかなり深く学ぶことができたのではないでしょうか？
子どもたちにとっては遊びと学びがつながると遊ぶやる気も増えるし、学びもより深まります。

Koyo, the beautiful autumn foliage, is now peaking in Nikko.
If you are around the area, we highly recommend that you visit Oku-Nikko for amazing views. Right now Ryuzu Waterfall is specially beautiful. From JR or Tobu Nikko Station, take the Tobu bus for Yumoto Onsen and get off at stop 38, one after Ryuzu no taki. From the bridge over Yukawa River (right next to the bus stop) you will be able to enjoy the impressive view. Then keep walking following the river downstream for about 300 meters and you will get to Ryuzu Waterfall. There’s a souvenier shop and a local restaurant with a deck with an amazing view, perfect to enjoy a warm dish after the walk!

In the biggest festival in Nikko area, visitors can see various breathtaking rituals such as yabusame ritual in which riders on horsebacks shoot targets with arrows, as well as “Hyakumonozoroe Sennin Musha Gyoretsu,” a parade of 1000 people in samurai warrior outfits.

Muchos conocen Japón por sus cerezos en flor en primavera, pero los colores de otoño son igualmente maravillosos!
En esta época, el paisaje cambia de verde a diferentes tonalidades de amarillo, marrón y rojo. Y Nikko es uno de los mejores lugares para disfrutar este espectáculo de la naturaleza.
La fecha puede modificarse año a año dependiendo de la temperatura, pero se espera que el pico de esta temporada sea desde mediados de octubre hasta principios de noviembre.

あおぞらきっずで大人気のプログラム「チャリ旅」毎回、様々な場所へ自転車を走らせて冒険に出かけていますが、今回は栃木県が誇る世界遺産「日光二荒山神社、東照宮」がスタートです！
日光から宇都宮まで約４０kmの道のり。子ども達にとって４０kmはかなり長い距離です。ゴールの宇都宮の中心地「宇都宮城址公園」を目指してみんなで頑張ろう！
スタートの二荒山神社にて ここまでくるのに電車、バス、徒歩での移動 ワクワクの冒険が始まります。
東照宮前はたくさんの観光客が訪れています。さすが世界遺産。
日光の有名な観光名所でもある「神橋」
杉並木の中を走り抜けるのは気持ちがいい！
そば畑 日光市はそば祭りが毎年開催刺されるほど美味しいそばの町としても知られています。
収穫を迎えた稲 こんな景色の中を自転車で走れるのは贅沢ですね。
あまりの暑さで体力を奪われる ゴールまであと少しファイト！
あまりの暑さに耐えきれず寄り道して水遊び クールダウンして気持ちもリフレッシュ！
曼珠沙華を発見。宇都宮も主要道を少し外れるとこんなにいい景色が広がっています。自転車でないと気づくことのできない景色は案外多いかもしれません。
ゴールの城址公園 今回は予想よりも高い気温と日差しにみんなまいった様子。日焼けした頬がとてもかっこよく見えました。
感想を聞いたみると「疲れた。長かった。」 一日中自転車を漕ぎ続ける経験はなかなかできませんからね。慣れている子は「このまま家まで自転車だ！」とおまけのチャリ旅を楽しみに帰って行きました。
いつかこの経験の積み重ねが「自分てすごい！なんだってできる」自信となっていくことでしょう。
今回、活動をするにあたって前週の休日に朝早くからお父さんと二人で自転車に乗って練習している姿を見かけました。あとで聞いてみると親子で往復４０kmを練習で走りきったそうです。
自宅から車で目的地まで行くのは簡単ですが、せっかくならたどり着くまでの道のりも含めて楽しみを共有して、チャリ旅をきっかけに親子の時間が持てるのもいいですね。
